Sly Rat Theatre have established a popular annual shakespeare festival on the river. They needed a fresh identity that would work well with their original Sly Rat logo. It needed to be versatile enough to appear along side a collection of logos on different posters, to appear at large sizes on banners by the river, and to be printed on clothing and merchandise. My aim was to encapsulate the magic and excitement of the outdoor performances with a simple yet attractive icon. I wanted it to draw in the viewer with the colour and detail of a painting, while still being clean and adaptable like all good logos should.
GO2CUP is Daniel Grosso's Perth-based initiative to reduce the environmental impact of single-use coffee cups. Every aspect of the GO2CUP business is driven by sustainability. Daniel and I worked together to create an identity that was concise and inviting, able to work on black cups and white paper, and to be flexible enough to appear very small on cups, to be printed on bins, and to identify company vehicles. In keeping with the brand ethos, we made sure that all printed GO2CUP collateral was produced sustainably.

Designed with Essendon Creative.
The restaurant and function centre Wellers of Kangaroo Ground came to Essendon Creative in need of a simpler and more refined identity. I decided to keep the rolling hills of Kangaroo Ground in the logo but recreated them using curving leaves, and the iconic wattle flower. I drew inspiration from classic wine labels to create an identity that is both current and indicative of the history that is entrenched in Wellers.
Identity design for Sly Rat Theatre.
Sly Rat is dedicated to the pursuit of new Australian work that speaks directly to the fears and concerns of the theatre-going public. By grappling with pressing arguments, frightening truths and the anxious things that keep you up at night, the company wants to provoke dialogue and discussion in a volatile way.
Their mission statement is to produce provocative, immediate and thrilling theatre in ways that are yet to be explored. There is also a healthy dose of the ‘beg, borrow and steal’ ethos.
To by sly, the rat had to appear very subtly and simply in the logo. The rat's head becomes a unique icon that sneakily appears on Sly Rat collateral.

Tease Mania is a reoccurring burlesque night in Melbourne. The brief for this event poster was : wild and raunchy, fun & dirty, with an original illustration. My poster girl is based on the gorgeous Betty Page, and the design is reminiscent of vintage burlesque show and grind house movie posters.
I used a limited colour palette to allow the colours to change for each new instalment of the show.
